- It takes a lot of staff, volunteers and funding to keep everything operational in order to meet the needs of our patients. Please find below some facts and figures about Foyle Hospice, which gives some idea of the resources required to facilitate our services.
- All our services are provided to patients and families free of charge.
- Our catchment area covers the Northern sector of the Western Trust which includes parts of both counties Derry/Londonderry and Tyrone, encompassing some 250,000 plus inhabitants.
- Our services are provided by around 80 dedicated Hospice employees.
- Almost 500 dedicated volunteers help us to deliver our services.
- We provide a telephone advice line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Foyle Hospice has been operating since 1985.
- In-patient Unit provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Our Specialist Palliative Community Team provide support to patients and families in their home 5 days a week.
- Our Day Hospice team offer respite care to patients 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
