We enjoy tremendous support from our volunteer community, their skills and individual qualities compliment our staff making a vital contribution to the high quality service that we provide.
Volunteering can be a very rewarding expereince. Some of our volunteers have been with us for 20 years and we are always attracting new volunteers of all ages from all walks of life. To learn more about how you can help please see our Volunteer Leaflet.
Hear what some of our volunteers have to say about their volunteering experience:
“Having been sick myself I wanted to give something back” (Margaret)
“There is a real sense of belonging to a team in working with other volunteers and staff,
who are brilliant!” (Monica)
”Volunteering has given me the opportunity to get back into the community after being
away for 36 years.” (Josie)
Invista Move Mountains in Hospice Grounds
On Friday, 15th March the Invista volunteer team turned out in force with tools in hand to help tidy up the hospice gardens in preparation for new spring growth. There was much work to be done and despite the freezing conditions the 12 strong team got busy, scraping, sweeping and clearing.
Their hard work is evident everywhere and now our gardens are primed for spring – all we need now is some spring weather!
We are grateful to the Invista volunteer team who give up their time to help our regular volunteer team with the mammoth task of maintaining our beautiful gardens. These gardens are a very important feature of Foyle Hospice bringing much comfort to patients and their families.
