Who can become a volunteer

Our volunteers come from all walks of life, they are both male and female ranging from 16 to 80+ years. Involved in both direct and indirect patient care volunteers bring with them a variety of unique skills that complement our staff enabling the hospice to deliver the highest level of palliative care to its patients and to their families.

Local people volunteer because they have skills and experience they want to continue using, others are looking to learn new skills and others simply want to enjoy the social aspects of belonging to a team.  Whatever people’s individual reason for volunteering all of them have something in common – they want to give something back to their local community and make a difference to people’s lives.

Whatever your reason for volunteering, if you are able to commit a few hours a week now and again or on a regular basis and you are over 16 years old we would delighted to hear from you.
