A light for someone special this Christmas

At Christmas, the lights on the Foyle Hospice tree carry a special meaning.

We warmly invite you to join us at Foyle Hospice for our annual Lights of Love Tree Lighting Ceremony, as our community comes together to remember and celebrate the lives of people who remain close to our hearts.

Each year, hundreds of lights shine on our Christmas tree in memory of loved ones. During this special evening, we will gather in the Hospice grounds before the tree is illuminated — creating a beautiful moment of remembrance, reflection and togetherness.

The ceremony is open to everyone. You do not need to have had a family member cared for by Foyle Hospice, and you do not need to have dedicated a light to attend.

Christmas can bring treasured memories of people who are no longer with us. The Tree Lighting Ceremony offers a gentle opportunity to:

• Remember someone special at Christmas.
• Stand alongside other families and people from across our community.
• See our Lights of Love tree illuminated for the festive season.
• Spend some time in the peaceful surroundings of Foyle Hospice.
• Support the work of Foyle Hospice and the care we provide to local patients and families.

You are welcome to come on your own or bring family and friends.

Dedicate a Light of Love

You can also choose to dedicate a Light of Love in memory of someone special.

Your light will form part of the hundreds shining on our tree, while your donation will help Foyle Hospice continue providing specialist palliative care and support to patients and families throughout our community.

A dedication is not required to attend the ceremony — everyone is welcome.

The annual ceremony has traditionally brought the community together with a local family switching on the Hospice’s Lights of Love tree in memory of loved ones.
